This 300SL roadster from the so-sought series 198 was delivered in 1957 to the Mercedes dealer Bölle, Vollmer and Co. In Singen at the Hohentwiel. It was destined for a wealthy customer from the Lake Constance. As a result, the roadster was sold to the USA and remained there until the end of 1982. In 1983 the car came back to Germany and came to a well-known modesigner Otto Kern. The car remained with him until April 1985. A successful entrepreneur from Aachen had liked the elegant 300 SL Roadster and bought the car spontaneously and kept it for the next 24 years.
He had specifically commissioned an experienced car mechanic to take care the car and repaired immediately whenever necessary. The engine was completely reworked at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Aachen in 1987. In 1994, Kienle a specialist Company of classic cars completely surpassed the gearbox. In 1997 the body was completely overhauled and in the delivery color 534 fire red new varnished. In 2009 the car took over an acquaintance of the owner from northern Bavaria. He let the seats roll up again in 2009. Numerous maintenance work since 2010 document impressively the high quality requirements of the last owner until today. It should be emphasized that since the engine revision 1987 at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Aachen, not even 20,000 kilometers were driven by the car. This is a great opportunity to get a perfectly maintained 300SL roadster, which offers a lot of fun and a good value.
