The automotive top class in the later 1950s was undoubtedly the Mercedes-Benz 300Sc from the series W188 II. The list price of a 300SC with 175hp injection engine was DM 36,500, (germany currency)- at about eight times the annual net earnings of an industrial worker. Only a few wealthy could buy such a luxury car in the post-war years. Whether as a coupe, cabriolet with lined roof or roadster with completely recessed roof, the price was always the same. The first owner of this 300Sc in far Canada had opted for a coupe. He had chosen DB 190 graphite gray as the exterior color. The comfortable seats were suitably upholstered in gray leather (955), as well as the side panels with the door pockets.
As an additional factory order, the sky of the coupé roof was covered with fine leather. The lush chrome trim, which externally distinguished the Sc model from the previous carburettor version, the 300S, was especially emphasized by the discreet graphite gray. High-quality wood equipment, specially selected by Mercedes-Benz designers, was the crowning glory of the luxurious interior. The car remained in the possession of the Canadian family for many years. In 2006, the coupe came into the possession of a German businessman in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2011, the elegant coupe acquired a businessman from Lower Saxony. In 2014 the car was sold by our house to a lover of classic automobiles. In the course of a collection conversion, we are pleased to be able to offer you this extraordinary Coupé again. The condition of the car is fantastic.
The reworking of the car, made a few years ago, makes it seem like new. The noble leather interior is in sensational good condition and seems to be still original. The fits are even, the lines of the chrome strips are consistent, even the BOSCH imprints in the headlight rings and on the additional headlights are available. The entire technology works perfectly without any maintenance backlog. Let yourself be dragged under the spell of this noble coupe, we are happy to advise you.
